Today, we’re serving you some more sweet sounds from the home of electronic music innovation. Australian artist Abraham Tilbury took a brief hiatus from releasing new tracks, but that’s all set to change with the arrival of laidback, alternative gem ‘So Right’. Made in collaboration with his friend Amy Axegale, this track is a reflective piece for Tilbury, as he looks back on the years he spent working for other artists in Melbourne in comparison to his move back home to Brisbane to focus on his own project. Amy Axegale provides bright, crisp beats perfectly timed for Australia’s warmer months, while Tilbury’s breathy vocals make way for introverted thoughts. The vocal echoes embody the process of collaboration; how often more than one voice and thought is involved, but here it’s a shared process and so we hear “so right” repeated in chilled agreement. As well as being a song about creativity, ‘So Right’ is also a moonlight-drench love story which adds a further layer of intrigue and atmosphere to this vibey track. - Hannah Thacker
